The Great Comfort

Tuesday, July 13th, 2010

More than 300 people are killed in road accidents every day in our country. As per a UN study accidents causing 80% of these deaths involve violation of traffic rules.

Violation of traffic rules no longer leaves an accident, an accident. In true sense, more than 240 people are deliberately killed every day by assaulting them with mechanized metallic bodies. Most of these deaths happen to be in metro Cities, where the masses are most educated & enlightened and the administration is most efficient & honest.

The intellectuals I run in to prima facie reject this issue as a non-issue. They are also violently averse to the idea of discussing unhealthy economic growth, rising crime & corruption, and the falling social structure in Indian society. They rather prefer to talk about human rights violations in China or diktats of Khap panchayat in Indian Villages. For these two issues provide them a wide horizon to demonstrate their profound knowledge.

It is very comforting for me to find such self-centered people around. For it gives me space & time for staying centered around myself.

India Shinning

Tuesday, June 8th, 2010

Every high profile gets out from the CBI’s hands because that is the wish of the government. The CBI is a highly skilled agency but it is not allowed to work against people in high places. I was moved out of the CBI because I insisted on following people in high places.

A detailed report on chemical pollution in Gujarat:

http://www.dailymail.co.uk/home/moslive/article-1188937/The-great-carbon-credit-eco-companies-causing-pollution.html

This article reveals how third world countries are becoming  a paradise for the polluting industries. The administrative & political corruption in these parts of the world has made the common man a victim of industrialization.

Earlier, politicians had to pay for good coverage. Now, they have to pay to ensure that they do not get bad coverage. Good coverage is extra fees. - Arundhati Roy

Really Really Long Drive

Monday, December 21st, 2009

Recently I drove from Bangalore to Delhi through Golden Quadrilateral.

Day : Bangalore->Kolhapur

Day 2: Kolhapur->Surat

Day 3: Surat->Nathdwara (Rajsamand)

Day 4: Nathdwara->Delhi

*********

I drove only during the day time to minimize the probability of falling asleep while driving :-) Roads were pretty good in most stretches except in Karnatka.

*********

If traffic police guys see an out of state registration on any car they have a tendency to stop it. If they stop you once, it is hard to get away without loosing some money. The situation is worst if you are not traveling as a large group. I had all the essential documents for my Car, but at most places they will argue that the documents are fake, an argument hard to beat. If your time is really valuable (as mine is) you will yourself try to get out of the situation by paying some money. You will encounter the cops only while passing through the major cities. A couple of tips which might come handy

- Avoid eye contacts with traffic police (so that they can’t signal you to stop)

- Drive in the middle lane or the right most lane (they are always standing on the left )

I wish to finish the remaining part of golden quadrilateral “Delhi->Calcutta->Chennai” in the coming year. Ping me if any one is interested to join.

Racial Attacks in Australia

Thursday, September 17th, 2009

If this would have happened in an Asian country, World leaders would have painted it as an international issue of immense importance. It could have been called the “Communist Oppression”, or “Islamic Radicalism”, or “Hindu Bigotry”. But the fact that it is “W” & “C” at play, there is much silence.

The pace at which justice is offered in Australia is highly commendable. In some of such assault cases, the accused have been tried and convicted in less than a week’s time. On the other hand, Raj thackrey, on whose behest several workers from Bihar were killed in Mumbai last year, is roaming free. We have no idea if any progress has been made on that case.The 1984 Sikh riot case, where thousands of sikhs were killed in communal protest is still doing rounds in the courts. On what could be a misuse of governmental powers, several Congress leaders have been acquitted in this case by special CBI court, when Congress government itself is in power.

Just done watching a movie “Lord of War”
the world’s five biggest supplier of fire arms
are also the five permanent members of UN
they thrive on the armed conflicts in different parts of the world

just checked times_of_india
read about the rocket attacks in to indian border by pakistan
and BSF firing back in response
before this there had been lot of fuss about
china’s incursions in to indian border

truth is that
a lot of our tax money
is soon going to be spent
on big arms deals

what can we do than feel helpless?

we will not live helplessly forever
we will learn languages
learn about law
watch lots of movies
read lot of books
and have whisky in the cold winter nights of delhi

We miss you Rajiv

Saturday, August 22nd, 2009

I had totally forgotten about the Birthday Anniversary of Rajiv Gandhi. What a way to remember, this piece of sensationalizing  media crap, “Minor Lured in to blood donation at Rajiv’s Anniversary”. What the **** is wrong with Indian Media. Can’t we remember the past for its good, and not implicate the bygones in the blunders of today.

I wish Rajiv was around. We would have had high speed broadband in all the villages, and all the cities would have been centrally wi-fi enabled. He is the father of Indian Technology Revolution. The current governments are too busy milking the old cow, without every caring to feed it. And the media is full of shitty talent to care about what actually matters.

Good & Bad things happen to each culture & country. So we need to take our due share. I guess I should stop whining over what is not being done & worry about if I am doing what I ought to do. That might unload my heart a bit. So, I end this post with memorable words of Rajiv.

India is an old country, but a young nation; and like the young everywhere, we are impatient. I am young and I too have a dream. I dream of an India, strong, independent, self reliant and in the forefront of the front ranks of the nations of the world in the service of mankind.  - Rajiv Gandhi

———–

While Congress Government has initiated many new drives on Name of Rajiv Gandhi, the true spirit of “Freedom”, “Decentralization of Power”, & “No to Sycophancy” is totally missing. We Indians are always good at losing the true essence of things while making fuss about what is trivial.

Wish you all a happy independence day.

How close are we to the reality
———————————
(1) How may of us do really have the power to exercise our constitutional rights?
(2) Those of us who practically have the power to exercise our constitutional rights, do we really exercise them?
(3) Do we knowingly or unknowingly infringe upon others constitutional right?

For a better tomorrow

Get aware of your rights. Create awareness among others. Let others not encroach upon your rights and do not encroach on the right of others

Please celebrate the independence day by passing this message to the others.
